3 Questions About Fair Saint Louis’ Return to Downtown

Welcome home, Fair Saint Louis! After spending four summers in Forest Park due to Gateway Arch grounds construction, the iconic celebration is returning to the riverfront for its 2018 Fourth of July spectacular.

“We are ecstatic to return Fair Saint Louis to its original home of Gateway Arch National Park,” says James Boldt, general chairman of Fair Saint Louis 2018. “With CityArchRiver project renovations scheduled to be completed on July 3 with the opening of the Museum at the Gateway Arch, 2018 is truly the perfect year to bring the Fair back home. Celebrating America’s birthday by putting on America’s Biggest Birthday Party under America’s tallest manmade monument… what could be better?”

What are the Fair Saint Louis 2018 dates?

Fair Saint Louis will be held on Wednesday, July 4 from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m.; Friday, July 6 from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.; and Saturday, July 7 from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. And don’t forget about the America’s Birthday Parade—the annual VP Parade will run down Market Street prior to the Fair’s opening on July 4 starting at 10 a.m.

What will parking be like?

While public transit tends to be beneficial for large-scale events such as this, details on parking are coming soon via the Fair Saint Louis website and app.

“Some of the most common Fair questions we get are, ‘How can I get to the Fair?’ or ‘Where can I park?’” explains Boldt. “The Fair Saint Louis team is comprised of multiple volunteer committees, trusted vendors and all our St. Louis City partners who are dedicated to ensuring the Fair’s visitor experience is top-notch and safe. That said, we are currently working on a comprehensive parking plan for this year’s event, and we will announce those details, along with other event logistics, in the weeks leading up to Fair Saint Louis.”

Is the air show coming back?

Point your eyes toward the sky and prepare to be amazed—the airshow is returning to Fair Saint Louis. “Each year, it is our mission to offer something for everyone with all-star entertainment, family friendly activities and lots of interactive fun,” Boldt says, noting 2018 will be no different. “We are excited to welcome back the Boeing Air Show with two performances on Wednesday, July 4. This year’s Fair will also include new elements and themes highlighting the historic renovations that have transformed the Arch. We are planning to announce the entertainment lineup soon, so stay tuned!”
