Here’s What Interns Had to Say About Life in St. Louis

Yesterday afternoon, dozens of young professionals gathered at CannonDesign for the 2018 Intern Summer Send-Off networking event hosted by Downtown St. Louis. Here, future engineers, accountants, architects and more were invited to celebrate their hard work with food courtesy of Charlie Gito’s and a variety of local beers. While everyone enjoyed the pasta, beer and virtual reality station (courtesy of CannonDesign), we caught up with a few interns to find out what they enjoyed most about their experience living in St. Louis. Here’s what they had to say:

“I used my lunch break every day as an excuse to try all kinds of restaurants Downtown. But my favorite had to be Broadway Oyster Bar.” – Heather, KPMG

“I’m really thankful that Ameren gave me a ton of opportunities to explore different parts of not only St. Louis, but the state of Missouri in general.” – Colleen, Ameren

“My favorite part about St. Louis was The City Museum. If you haven’t been, make sure to go at night!” – Suvy, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis

“Working Downtown taught me more about the culture of St. Louis than I’d ever known before I started my internship here.” – Sydney, CannonDesign

“I loved exploring the streets Downtown and just seeing all the different people. There was a lot to take in but it was awesome.” – Shane, KPMG

“Forest Park is incredible! I especially enjoyed going to Art Hill, it’s so beautiful.” – Lizzy, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis

“The best thing about working in Downtown St. Louis is definitely the variety of restaurants. Sushi Ai was probably my favorite though!” – Cam, CannonDesign

Some of the interns who attended were Gateway City natives while others moved all the way from the East and West Coasts for their job opportunities. Either way, it’s safe to say these young professionals made the most of their experiences, in and out of the office.
