5 Fun Ways to Thaw Out in Downtown St. Louis This Spring

Well, we survived another frigid winter in the Lou. It’s time to trade those coats for flip flops and (finally) thaw out. You might already have some ideas for springtime activities, like a Cards game or a picnic under the Arch (make sure to try this pose below). But we wanted to show you some activities that you might not have heard about.

Let’s do this.

Sunrise Yoga at Kiener Plaza

Want to start your day with a stretch? Pack your mat and head over to Sunrise Yoga at Kiener Plaza. Each Tuesday at 7 a.m. (starting April 16), Yoga Buzz instructor Jamie Austin will lead yogis of all levels through a 45-minute session of bending and breathing as the sun rises over Downtown. After class, enjoy an iced coffee courtesy of Kaldi’s.

Weekly Fun Runs With Three Run Four

The Three Run Four summer season starts Thursday, April 18 at 6:15 p.m. This free Downtown running/social club welcomes runners of all skill levels to a two or three-mile fun run followed by drink and food specials courtesy of Tin Roof. This is the first weekly meetup, but you won’t want to miss the prizes and a chance to see all your favorite St. Louis runners. All the information you need can be found on their Facebook page.

Relax on the Rooftop of Hotel Saint Louis

Get some sweet, 16th-floor views from Hotel Saint Louis‘ jaw-dropping rooftop bar, Form Skybar. Form serves up eclectic cocktails and specialty plates in a 2,480-square-foot space with retractable windows that overlook the city. But the fun doesn’t stop there. Beside the bar is a heated rooftop pool with a view that rivals any other in the city.

Downtown Dodgeball

On Thursday, May 2, Washington Avenue will transform into a 64-by-40-foot dodgeball court. You read that correctly. The GROUP360 Worldwide Dodgeball Tournament is going down for the sixth year in a row. Starting at 3:30 p.m., 20 teams will head over to 13th and Washington for this unique event which raises money for the Lupus Foundation of America. Players and spectators (it’s free to watch) can also take part in less-intense raffles throughout the afternoon.

The Color Run

This isn’t your typical 5K. At each kilometer mark, Color Runners are doused from head to toe in a different colored powder. By the end, participants look like running rainbows. Afterward, the fun continues at the Finish Festival with music, dancing, prizes, and of course, more massive color throws. There are no winners, no times, and no pressure—so don’t worry if you spent your winter in hibernation.

The Color Run kicks off April 13 at Eternal Flame Park. Save your spot here.
