If you’re looking to start a podcast, record a song, or produce a movie in Downtown St. Louis, you don’t need any fancy equipment. You just need a library card.
The Central Library’s Creative Experience is an all-inclusive digital makerspace in the heart of Downtown St. Louis. It doesn’t matter who you are or what experience you have—you’ll get access to all the cutting-edge tools and software you need to make your ideas come to life. It’s a place that inspires ingenuity, encourages creativity, and develops expertise—all at no cost.
What’s There to Do?
When you walk into the Creative Experience, you walk into a world of possibilities. Each of the four computer pods is equipped with HD monitors, wide-angle cameras, USB microphones, and seating for up to 10 people. Here, creators have the freedom to create, edit, and publish audio, video, and interactive projects.
The amount of software available in the Creative Experience is staggering: Adobe Creative Cloud, FL Studio, VEGAS Movie Studio, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, and WordPress top the list, but there’s so much more.
As if that weren’t enough, your library card grants you free access to professional training tutorials through Lynda.com.
