Lace Up—It’s Time for Winterfest at the Arch

Grab your skates and lace up: it’s time to head to the Winterfest Ice Rink at Kiener Plaza.

The Gateway Arch Park Foundation is teaming up with the St. Louis Blues to offer St. Louisans an experience like no other: free ice skating in the shadow of the Gateway Arch.

Winterfest is the premier destination for outdoor ice skating in Downtown St. Louis. The rink is open 4-8 p.m. Thursday and Fridays; noon-8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

No skates? No problem. Rentals are available at the rink: $12 for adults, $7 for kids ages 3-15. And thanks to the St. Louis Blues, kids skate rentals are free on Thursdays and Fridays. You can even rent out the rink for groups of 100 or more.

But the fun doesn’t stop at skating.

Kiener Plaza is a perfect spot to sip hot chocolate in the renovated park or to explore the playground. What’s more, Winterfest has dozens of experiences lined up for families and individuals of all ages to enjoy.

On Saturday, December 2 Winterfest will host the St. Louis Blues Holiday Toy Drive and Viewing Party at Winterfest presented by FOX Sports Midwest. Here, fans can watch the Blues at Minnesota Wild game on a large outdoor screen in Kiener Plaza and donate new, unwrapped toys to the Blues holiday toy drive.

Looking for a fun way to ring in the new year? Winterfest’s New Year’s Eve Party is the way to go. The party starts at 4 p.m. and carries on until 8 p.m. when the fireworks show begins at the Arch Grounds. The following day, you can enjoy a New Year’s Day Skate, the last day of Winterfest Ice Rink season.
